suggestion please...

there's this office memorandum from the dean's office that was posted at the diffirent bulletin boards and even at the guard house of our college and of our neighbor college. hmm. well, at first i though it was just an ordinary memorandum but after reading it, nagulo ang utak ko. sabi ng memo, the washday is being moved from wednesday to friday. also, it was stated there some couple of prohibition na hanggang ngaun ay pinapaisip ako at kinakailangan ko ang tulong nyu. haha.

introduce daw...

first week of classes is always accompanied by introducing yourself. kahit magkakakilala na kayo ng mga kklase mo eh kailangan niyo pa ring magpakilala ng atleast 8 beses sa isa't-isa kung 8 ang subjects mo dahil maaring hindi ka kilala ng professor mo. well, my usual introduction goes this way:

Me: Good afternoon sir! Good afternoon everyone! i'm Russ Daniel Baldoza
from Naga City. you can call me RUSS.

kumbga simple lang. but then during our introduction in our Philippine Literature class, our professor asked us to introduce ourselves by saying our names, where we came from and something unique about us. siyempre, yung mga kaklase kong feeling beautiful said:

'i think the thing that's unique in me is my beauty'

i can dance sir. a little. (phumble effect kumbga)

'i have a lot of skills and talents' (tila ba inangkin niya na ang lahat)

Me: Good afternoon sir! i'm Russ Daniel Baldoza from the Maogmang Lugar -
Naga City. i can say that i am unique in a way that i am capable of entering an organization and being an officer responsibly. i love(?) to blog and surf the net.
I CAN DANCE! ...
(pause) but it's bad...(pause) VERY BAD!

haha. hainku. atleast aminado! :D

on my previous post here, i have said that i started the school year 2009-2010 good but i ended it greater. but just this week, i found another reason to celebrate my first year in college and to say again that i really ended it GREAT! a flat-ONE in ICT. 1.1 in logic. 1.2 in english and a couple of 1 point something. i never expected to get a flat-ONE much more a GWA of 1.38. grbeng blessings! thanks Bro!

oo nga!

hmm. i would agree sa post ni jowhee about how degrading minsan ang pagcompare sa mga schools na pinapasukan ng mga students. i can say that somehow that naencounter ko na rin yun. but the best thing that i should do is by excelling in classes and in life thus, proving them na wala naman tlaga sa school mo yun kundi nasa iyong mga kamay. dba jowhee?

at dahil nasuper extra ako sa blog ni jowhee eh nararapat lang na mgblog-back ako (parang text lang oh). haha. hmm. well jowhee, i'm okay and i'm doing good (i think). hmm. actually, hindi na ako nakakabasa ng mga kwento mo when i decided to stop blogging but when i changed my mind just this summer lang eh nagbasa naman ako ulit. haha. hmm. ikaw? kumusta? at kumusta ang pag-adjust? hmm. sa akin, i can say that i'm off to a good start though nmmiss ko na yung mga dating kasa-kasama ko most of the time. like you, i was thinking that it was really okay to be somehow separated to them but then nkkmiss pa rin lalo na kapag free time mo at may klase sila. pro on the positive side. kagaya nga ng sabi mo eh atleast this is a chance to have new friends. i can say hindi naman mahirap maglet go dahil hndi naman talaga kailangang i-let go. malay ko magkaklase ulit kami next sem or next week. but despite being separated sa mga friends eh aus naman at kayang-kaya. haha. sbi ko nga noon eh challenge.

living in a girl's world...

^^^^^
yan ang drama ng buhay ko ngayon dito sa legazpi. hndi dahil may identity crisis ako o dahil napagtanto kong babae pala ang puso ko kundi dahil nakatira akong napapaligiran ng mga babae. meaning its literal! haha. well, wala namang kaso talaga sa akin yun. kung sabagay, noon pa man ay babae na ang kasabay ko sa paglaki sa katauhan ng aking ate. at mas masasabi kong mas at ease ako kapag babae ang kasama dahil sa palagay ko ay nasanay ako na palaging kasama si ate at dahil na rin sa rami ng mga babaeng kaibigan ko. hmm. but then, i'm having a hard time adjusting with them. haha. wala pa akong friend na kaboard ko dahil nahihiya akong mag-approach. you know? shy type bga ako. haha. hmm. nywyz, its just too early. marami pang magbabago at hopefully, marami pang mag-iimprove. haha. :D

bagong kabanata

06-12-10

like***

it all started with a *like. hmm. nakita ko ang post ni ma'am jen, it was a link to the video on the proclamation of president-elect noynoy aquino with some text which says no to this, no to that and that and this which i believe is right. so seeing it, i pressed the like button and poooop! it bacame coco cruch. haha.

well, there's nothing really extraordinary in here except the reply of ma'am jen to my *like which is soo long and contains some flashbacks of the lessons from first year which maybe can justify that ma'am jen is so mastering her lessons and blahblahblah. tanong? si ma'am jen ba ang teacher namin sa araling panlipunan noon?? haha.

what??!

OH NO!

proud ako!

with SM and more businesses coming in and penetrating Naga's economy plus the tourism boom that Naga and CamSur is experiencing, its effects to Naga and its business or establishments are also coming. from my point of view, what is happening now is the Survival of the Fittest scenario. when the business establishment can catch up with SM and the new establishments, it will survive. hmm. if not, better luck next time. Naga's progression and regression during the last years, according to my observation are the following:

on the NEGATIVE:
  • RED RIBBON and KFC Plaza Quezon closed down their Centro Branch after relocating at SM.
  • ADVENT, EMILY and BICHARA are closing down (or are closed, i just don't know).well, the blame can't be given to the Naguenos. after all, what does they dusty old emily and bichara has to offer compared to what SM Cinema offers. but then, they are institution when it comes to Cinemas in Bicol. i think, what the Bichara and Emily Cinemas should do is to upgrade their Cinemas here in Naga just like what they have done in Legazpi with their Silverscreens.
  • small business are continuing to shot foul. some even decided to closed due to low income.
on the POSITIVE:
  • Establishments continues to rise at CBD 2 alongside with the Metro Naga Coliseum, Bicol Access Health Centrum, CBD Plaza Hotel, STI-Naga Campus.
  • Existing businesses continues to fight by repackaging themselves. for instance, the Baker's Plaza.
  • With the arrival of SM, new establishments are arriving and will arrive just like the Starbucks Cafe which will be brewing its coffee soon at Magsaysay Ave.
  • Caramel Bakeshop opened its branch at Naga City Old CBD.
  • McDonalds Plaza is upgrading its structure.
  • LCC continues to fight with SM by branching out not just inside the city but all over the region.
  • Molino Grill remodeled itself while ClubM8 is currently having its remodeling.
  • Electromart in Centro will be replaced by Goldilocks thus having a three cornered fight in that area with Baker's Plaza, Caramel Bakeshop and Goldilocks.
  • Citi Hardware Naga, VIVA Home Center opened along the Concepcion - Del Rosario Growth Area.
  • Hotels continue their upgrades and some have opened to accompany tourist and locals alike.
  • GMA 7 constructed their Regional Station at Naga.
  • UNTV opened their News Center.
  • Robertson Mall will construct its New Mall Grounds in front of the old Robertson.
  • alongside the entertainment establishments, new branch of Bank of the Philippine Islands.
  • Magsaysay Avenue continues to grow as the entertainment hub of Naga
  • more and more establishments continue to come in Naga.
as a Nagueno, it makes me proud to see that my home city is becoming BIGGER and BIGGER. and as a Nagueno, i am excited for more and more developments that can be seen in the city. God bless Naga! :D

lets talk about TV.

for the whole summer, one of my pet peeves is watching tv aside from surfing the net and eating. come to think of it, since school time is once again here (just days or exactly one week before classes will start), it would simply imply that watching tv for me will be limited. when the classes starts, i will live again in albay (of course, i study there!) and living in a boarder house is not that comfortable like the life in my own home which, for me, justifies the saying "THERE IS NO PLACE LIKE HOME!." i will surely miss my time watching tv programs in discovery channel, natgeo, disney channel, abs-cbn, anc, star movies, etc. especially that the tv programs that our small black and white tv in albay only offers program from local channels such as abs-cbn, gma and nbn. thats why sinusulit ko na ang aking panahon habang nakakapanood pa ako ng programs from cable channels.

well, speaking of tv, did you know that Naga City hosts most of the regional stations of the local channels in Bicol. Naga City have the ABS-CBN Naga - Studio 23 which also serves as the regional station, GMA 7 - Naga - QTV, UNTV 39 News Center (all of them located along Panganiban Drive) and the TV5 affiliate PBN TV5 Naga. While ABS-CBN offers local programming, GMA 7 has yet to offer local programming. Noticeably, GMA is just starting up its Bicol operations by constructing their station. Right now, GMA have improved the quality of their signal along with QTV 28. Currently, the Bicol Region as a whole enjoys a couple of local programs like Marhay na Aga Kapamilya, TV Patrol Bicol and MagTV na Oragon of ABS-CBN, Bareta sa Singko of PBN TV 5 Naga an affiliate of TV5.

in summation, TV Stations such as PBN TV 5 Naga, ABS-CBN, GMA, Studio 23, QTV and UNTV have their regional stations in Naga City. in the case of the state-run NBN, they have a station in Naga but their regional station is situated at Legazpi City being the Regional Government Center.

a new beginning...

long before the National Board of Canvassers convened, its almost certain the Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino is the front runner for the presidential race. but unlike the presidential race, the vice-presidential race is like a puzzle because of the neck-to-neck fight by Sen. Mar Roxas and Mayor Jejomar Binay. now, after almost a month after the elections, the smoke cleared and its clear that we will have Noynoy Aquino as our President-elect with 14,641,803 votes received from the Filipinos and Jejomar Binay as our Vice-President Elect with 14,501,371 votes received. Both of them will be proclaimed probably Wednesday according to the news.

Personally, i favored noynoy though i didn't have the right to vote on the belief that what the Philippines currently needs is a person whom the Filipino people can trust. i believe that ones the trust is bestowed to the government then we can start our travel in the road map to progress. for vp, i am for mar because i believe in the competence of mr. palengke but since he is not that privileged to be elected and since most of the Filipinos favored Mayor Binay, i think it is rightful for me to put my trust to the duly-elected vp instead of calling him to resign or make some fb page calling for his ouster even though he is not yet starting to perform his tasks as vp. and i think it is rightful for us Filipinos to trust our next leaders and to help them in every little way we can. i am not hoping that noynoy and binay can transform the Philippines in just a blink of an eye. but i am hoping that they can bring the change the the Philippines need slowly and surely.

my congratulations to the next president and vice-president. Mabuhay ang Pilipinas! :D

bp UP!

today is my day to get a student's permit at the Land Transportation Office - Naga City District Office located at the Naga City Hall Compound. hmm. of course, i'm quit excited for having the said license will grant me a chance to master the art of driving motorized vehicles with the help and supervision of my father or a driving school instead. the night before, my father instructed me to sleep early so as to wake up early. i wake up just at the right time. prepared myself and so on and so forth. an insider from the LTO said that there is a required seminar before one may get his/her student permit and that was being done once a day. so as not to miss the chance of attending the seminar today instead of tomorrow, we went to LTO just 5 minutes after 9. in short, i'm late by 5 minutes.

but then, after settling in and doing the things necessary i realized, dae pa man plan ako late. and while waiting for the instructor or speaker to arrive and gave the seminar, the first BP UP exploded, sabi nya "&**@! Filipino Time talaga." well, tama nga naman si kuya, sabi kasi 9 eh mag-aalas diyes na. sayang ang oras. hmm. but moments later, the 1-hour seminar started. madali lang naman, bsta ang natandaan ko:

SIGNS in RECTANGULAR or SQUARE SHAPES are INFORMATIVE in NATURE.
SIGNS in TRIANGULAR form gives WARNING.
SIGNS in CIRCULAR and INVERTED TRIANGLE are REGULATORY.

plus the phrase

IN DRIVING, DO NOT INSIST ON YOUR RIGHTS
and that's what you call DEFENSIVE DRIVING.

after the very short seminar, i submitted the forms needed and in submitting alone, it will take you almost an hour. though i don't complain about the numbering system that they use to facilitate and orderly submission of requirements i do think that there is a faster way to do that. and if ever they (LTO personnel) will try to lessen having chikkas to each other, then i think its another story. at this step another BP UP exploded, sabi ni kuya "&*%^$*@!, kung trabaho ngani magtrabaho." actually, i can say that we too have the same comments.

after submitting the forms, i proceeded to the next window wherein our picture and signature will be collected. sad to say, because of the very looooooooooooooooong waiting hours and the sllllllllllloooooooooooow process the office is offering, i need to have my lunch first and came back before 1pm because they will have their lunch break.

after the break, sympre balik LTO. and same old scenario. looooooong wait. slllooooooow process. buti na lang hndi masyadong matagal ang brown-out kundi mas lalo sigurong nag-init ang ulo ng mga tao dun. well, because of the same old scenario sunud-sunod ang mga nag-
BP UP, mura muna bago maglabas ng hinanakit sa mundo. well, sa mga kumukuha ng student permit, there was NO movement of the process. some inquired but the operator said that the system crashed. but after a minute of pangungulit at pagbabanta from a guy who
suddenly get his phone as if he is taking a picture of the personnel doing nothing and will be reported to ABS-CBN, names started to be called and the process finally begin! thank God. after having my picture and signature, i immediately proceed to the cashier and i am surprised because its not a looooong wait. after arriving at the cashier site, just about 3-5 minutes and wait and then i was called to pay. (namaan! pera nga naman! hha. joke). so after that, i transferred to another window and waited for 10-15 minutes for my student permit to be released. after 10-15 minutes of agonizing wait, ppooooooooopp! it became coco krunch! haha. well, joking aside, i got my student permit now! maybe i'll start my practice driving tomorrow. haha.

ang masasabi ko lang, please improve LTO people. come to think of it, you are in automated process now. just have enthusiasm in working with the very people who gave your salary. i just hope that when i renew my permit or get my non-prof license, i'll be writing a different story. :D

p.s. may meeting pala ang cyo about sa long term projects? tsktsk. too bad i was not informed.

cassipi

well, its just about days before classes will resume in BU. pasukan na naman. umpisa na naman ng pakitang gilas. umpisa ng bagong pagkaKAIBIGAN o kung di kaya ay pagkakaIBIGan. umpisa na naman ng pahirap, pasakit, mga reklamo, mga requirements, mga meetings at kung anu-ano pang mga activities.

hmm. but before that, i have here the copy of the cover of the CASSIPI: the official student publication of my college, Bicol University College of Social Sciences and Philosophy for the second semester last academic year 2009-2o1o. gladly, nakachamba ako at napadpad sa cover. haha. maybe i can say, its one of my souvenir for a fruitful academic year last year. i started first year college GREAT, i ended it GREATER! kudos to the staff and editors of the CASSIPI. thanks for the opportunity. :D

meet morning good.

Morning Good is such an icon in Bicol University. He roams around the campus giving everyone a good laugh. He is called as such because he has the ability to say words backwards. And he can do it really fast. His real name is Rogelio Concepcion.

an improvement with a cost.

once a shady, full of trees part of bicol university seen along Rizal St. (fronting Camp General Simeon Ola) is now one of the hotspots (spots wherein no trees can shade you while you are walking) in the university. hmm. from what i have known, the spot wherein the trees were cut down, particularly the walkway leading to the BU College of Arts and Letters on the other side and BU Administration Building on the other will be the spot wherein a new gate (maybe a BIG beautiful main gate) will be constructed.

As i can see it, there is no problem with regards to improving the facade of the university for it can help the university improve its status and create beautiful impressions to outsiders. as i can see it, there is no problem with regards to this improvement for as a student in the university, i welcome any improvement whether with regards to the infrastructure, curriculum and many others. but as i can see it, cutting trees that can instead provide shades for the students walking or atleast a spot for relaxation under the cool shade of a tree is not just. as i can see it, we could have used the trees instead in making the to-be-constructed gate more beautiful. but then, of course, lets just wait for the result first. i just hope that the trees cut down will be replaced maybe not on the same spot but on the other spots available.

4.6.10

ano ba tayo???

hmm. well, as i was browsing facebook, a fanpage calling for the ouster of the presidential front-runner Benigno Simeon "Noynoy" Cojuangco III struck my attention and suddenly, a question was formed in my mind.

ANO BA TAYONG MGA FILIPINO??? GANITO NA LANG BA TAYO???

hmm. alam natin na hindi lahat ng tao gusto ang isang kandidato. in an election, there are different parties with different candidates. sympre, we as the electorate have the rights to choose whoever we want to be elected. i think that's the gift of democracy, we can choose who we wanted as our leader. however, on the other side, sympre may mananalo, may matatalo. maaring ang kandidatong binoto mo eh sya ang mananalo o maaari rin namang matatalo sya ng kandidatong ayaw na ayaw mo.

but then, why will some group of people can't respect the voice of the plurality of the Filipinos? ang malala pa, some are calling for his ouster kahit hindi pa nga napproclaimed ng national board of canvassers. come on, we're better than this Filipinos. why not give the guy who garnered the most number of votes of the Filipinos a chance? stop this madness first and lets see what this guy has to offer.

WAG TAYONG MASYADONG JUDGEMENTAL!

yesterday, today and tomorrow

YESTERDAY (06.03.10)
months have passed before i have seen a movie in a theater. glad to say, it was this day when i finally see one. i watched "PRINCE of PERSIA: the sands of time" with paopao. let's say its a date between me and paopao. hm. well actually its an all-in-one celebration. we two are celebrating her graduation, her valedictorian status, her success in the SSG and somehow, his despidida party for she will leave Naga tomorrow in her quest for knowledge and to start her future. she will have her tertiary studies at UA&P with her Integrated Marketing Communications Degree. well, i can say that we both have good times. haha. we have enjoyed the movie. we have shared some stories about highschool and some persons around us. we both have our stomach full at KFC and we have exchange gifts as if it was christmas. haha. well, i thank paopao for the time and i wish her all the luck and the best for her college. :D

as with the movie, it was great. awesome cinematography. the story was great though somehow predictable. basta magaun. haha. aus!aus!

***********

TODAY (06.04.10)
if yesterday was my first time watching a movie in theater after some time, today was my first day watching a movie in 3D. haha. hmm. what can i say? of course, as a first timer it was nice and very enjoyable. haha. i love the 3D effects but then somehow it didn't reached my expectation. maybe i was expecting for IMAX style. haha. but then it was okay. i enjoyed the movie. basta ang natandaan kong sabi ni shrek,

"I didn't know what i have until i lost it"

hmm. feeling ko iba na ang words na ginamit ko but then the thought was the same. haha. this day, i was with glean and settie. hmm. bsta enjoy man ang movie. with the singing of donkey. with all the drama, atbp. haha. sabi nga ni glean, whats 250 for the enjoyment. haha. hmm. after watching movie, we ate at KFC. we shared stories. my bestfriend also arrived at the scene. duman na kami ngdinner. after, we shopped for glean's lumpia. haha. and then we went home with SM half-closed. :D

***********

TOMORROW (06.05.10)
its the Rest and Recreation part II of the City Youth Officials at Casa Ofelia, Carolina, Naga City.
hope it will be a fun-filled one! haha. :D

burp-day

yum.yum.yum. busog na busog ako kanina. hmm. well, today is my day. big day kumbga. dahil sabhihin na nating birthday ko. its my 18th birthday. debut??? haha. hndi. sa 21 pa daw ang mga lalaki eh. haha. hmm.i can say that my 18th birthday was just an ordinary day with a different twist. i mean, its different in a way that today, more or less hundred friends and relatives have greeted me through facebook, sms, ym, personal or in any other way. different in a way that when i saw the cyo group at city hall lobby, they sung the birthday song for me. different in a way that i bought two boxes of brownies for my cyo friends who have joined me in eating at SM-KFC as my thankyou treat to them. different in a way that glean accidentally tipped the a water filled glass that caused some inconvenience to me. different in a way that i feel, this day is start of the parting ways of cyo. different in a way that i have received my last (hope not!) salary or honorarium as a city youth official. different in a way that the family ate outside, particularly at Biggs which usually happens every sunday. different in a way that today we celebrate not only my birthday but my parent's 20th wedding anniversary. different in a way that its really different a hundred ways over.

hmm. to sum it up, my day was simple yet different. fun-filled yet unusual. thank you to all those who remember my day! maraming, maraming salamat at sa uulitin. God bless and i hope to have another different, fun-filled, wonderful, great year with you. HAPPY BIRTHDAY RUSS! :D

jun-june!

unang araw ng june. ibig sabihin pasukan na naman. well, i am officially enrolled now. incoming second year, bachelor of science in social work. hmm. kung noon ay block a ako, ngaun ay block b na aq. actually, wala namang issue kung anong block. haha. parehas lang naman. pro kung may naging issue man aq nung una ay ang katotohanan na ang aking mga malalapit na kaibigan ay nasa block a. hmm. honestly, nakakalungkot pro on the bright sad, its an opportunity for me to explore and a chance to have more friends in the batch. haha. well, i see it as a positive thing rather than a negative one. kaya kumbga, wala naman tlagang issue. kumbga, pinagulo ko lang. haha. pro speaking of, eto ang schedule ko for second semester.

haha. ang masasabi ko lang, ayaw ko ng tuesday and thursday schedule. haha. san ako mgbbreakfast at mgllunch?? tsktsk. well, ska na aq mamromroblema nyan. haha. i just hope that just like the two previous semesters that i have experienced, eh sana medyo ganun din. hehe. :D

1.6.10

finally.

haha. this is my first post after pledging that i will restart blogging at blogspot or blogger. hmm. actually, i have decided that i will not pursue anymore blogging because of katamaran primarily. but after some encouragement from (first) mr. golimlim, our guest speaker during the college's recognition day last april 2010 if i can remember it right that if you have the chance to blog, blog your life so that when your gone, others will have the chance to see your life through your posts; (second) from mr. joey co. he said that blogging is one way of improving our writing skills and comprehension and of course, expressing our sentiments; (lastly) from alex and alfred who decided to balik-loob sa blooger. (plus) jowhee na ang alam ko ay super active pa rin sa blogger. hmm. kaya to sum things up, let me say...

HEY BLOGSTER! I'M OFFICIALLY BACK! :D
