i voted!

This year's USC/CSC Election is quite a different one for me in two ways, first, i am not running for any position and second, i'm serving as part of the College Student Electoral Board as one of the two student members. i always believe that voting or casting one's vote is very much important if we want to see something and if we want to feel the change. this year's election in the university level was quite hot due to only two parties contesting for the crown. i watched and heard them say their platforms from the college convocations up to the HARAPAN@BU which in turn, both cleared my mind on who are the rightful ones to receive my single yet powerful vote. in the college level, there are three opposing parties thus making it hard to choose between the candidates. however, i can say that i choose the best person i deemed fit for the position and let's say for the lesser evil. moreover, perhaps the "party bias" should i say took in effect being a born BULeader.

well, still the bottomline: I VOTED FOR THE COLOR OF CHANGE IN THE USC and VOTED FOR THE MOST PROMISING PERSONS IN THE CSC.

ps. too bad i didn't voted for my crush in the College Student Council. hmmmm.

Anyway, here's my sample ballot containing the list of the candidates whom i voted..

alert!

BICOL UNIVERSITY DARAGA CAMPUS (BUCSSP and BUCBEM) IS ON RED ALERT STARTING
TODAY DUE TO THE DIFFERENT THREATS BROUGHT ABOUT BY THE STUDENTS AND
OTHER PEOPLE. WE ANTICIPATE YOUR COOPERATION TO THE
NEW POLICIES BEING IMPLEMENTED!

-the management

the aforementioned statement is the missing 'link' to make the situation appear exaggerated. well, i'm shocked that while on my way to the department, security guards on duty at the gate would require you to open your bag and let them check your belongings. of course, because it's something unusual, i asked kuya what's happening and he referred me to a memorandum issued by the Campus Executive Director which sets for more strict rules and safety policies in going in and out of the campus. based from my reading, aside from the continued implementation of No ID, No Uniform, No Entry Policy, bag inspection would also be required for the students entering the campus. Also, alcohol (isophropyl, ethyl and such other kinds of alcohol and other flammable substance is being banned from the campus and few other thins of new policies.

i'm not against the new policies being implemented because i know its for the good of the students, the faculty and other stakeholders of the campus. but then maybe the administration should re-think and re-evaluate how effective is the bag inspection because parang sinisilip lang naman or tinutusukan ng ruler tapos na.

the FUNNY THING about the new policies being implemented are the reaction of the students. i heard one asked the guard, "KUYA MAY ANO? MAY BISITA PO?" while most students would react "GAISANO??" or if not "LCC." as if BU Daraga is now the annex of a commercial establishment. well, well, well, again, maybe we should rethink. :D

JOKE

today is the first monday of the month. aside from going to church to attend to the novena mass in honor of the blessed sacrament and of the sacred heart of Jesus, it seemed that nothing really relevant happened. of course, my day started with my monday schedule for SW15: Philippine Realities and Development Perspectives under Dr. Mata (one of my favorite teacher because of her different teaching strategy where students would really use their mind). but then what's unusual is the following scenarios or incidents which happened while we were having our discussion.

*PANGYAYARI NUMERO 1
Dumating si Dan ng late at umupo sa may harap niya. Mukhang badtrip si madam dahil late dumating ang estudyante niyang nakaupo pa naman sa pinakaunahan na row.
Dr. Mata: Oh nonoy... haen su notebook mo?

*PANGYAYARI NUMERO DOS
Nagleleson si madam nang bigla siyang nagtanong...
Dr. Mata: Roxanne, DL ka ba?
Roxanne: No madam.
Dr. Mata: Sinong DL dito?
Class: si Russ
Dr. Mata: Aside from Russ?
Bebs: si angelo
Sarah: si arthur
Roxanne: si Mr. Balane madam!
Dr. Mata: That's a joke!

***moral: nanglalait din si madam at nangmamaliit.

*PANGYAYARI NUMERO TRES
Class: hahaha

***moral: JOKE TALAGA SI MADAM!

pero ang leksyon na talagang nakuha namin sa kanya ay ang ulit-ulit niyang pagsabi ng LIFE IS A JOKE! oh LIFE IS A JOKE DAW!

words

got a text message from a friend and classmate which contained a beautiful quote. since it's a beautiful quote for me, i decided to share it here in my blog.

Don't ever believe that you have nothing to contribute,
you are that combination so that you can do what is essential
for you to do... the world is an incredible unfulfilled TAPESTRY...
and the only YOU can FULFILL that space that is yours.

reblogged

while surfing some blog sites, i came across one which caught my attention. it was poem made from the acrostics of my name. and since it was about me i choose to re-blog it. here it goes:

Right then and there, I know you would be special
Unintentional attraction grew in an instant
Staring is rude but you do it good
Somehow, your eyes gave me hope.

Danger of falling in love is the risk I took
Admiration grew stronger and stronger as I knew you more
Never have I thought that you will be so dear
I am more than thankful for what you've shared with me
Every time with you are some of the moments I treasure most
Life is what we make it so I made you my life.

Obvious is what I am
Letting you know in my own simple ways
I just hope you can feel that's genuine
Vying for your affection is never an easy thing
At least, I have the courage to give love another shot for it already failed me a thousand times.

Battling the norms, stereotyping and your self-acclaimed indifference is exhausting
All these I will endure just let me do my thing
Loving you is easy but at the same time, it's not
Doing this is my decision, so I'm to blame
Our friendship is what I truly care for
Zest for love is just a spice
And this will grow as long as we are friends.

febIBIG na!

it's the first day of FEBRUARY and it's FEB-IBIG NA! since the valentines day is upcoming and there are a lot of things to attend to like the preparation for the Social Work Festival 2011, my book (book of myself), the PE4 Socialization Project, the upcoming BU USC/CSC Elections and the eagerness to have a date on the 14th. i need some multi-tasking. and since my friends (girls) are fond of panttrip sa akin, i required them to have a well-orchestrated plan for my valentine's date whether they like it or not and it is our friendship that was in line. well, let's see what they got for me on the 14th. well for the other matters, i can handle it --- soo far. :p
